Microsoft, Qlik and Tableau at the head of the Gartner report once more
A report compiled by Gartner, Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics, confirms the position of the biggest players on the business analytics systems market.
This year's report by Gartner, a market research firm, which analyzes the business intelligence systems market, shows that last year's winners are entrenched in the leadership positions. After several years of dynamic changes in this respect, meaning the ups and downs of particular providers, a period of significant stabilization is discernible.
In terms of completeness of vision, Microsoft is the clear winner. Not surprisingly, the company has an extensive range of analytical tools available, from Excel which is found in every office, to SQL Server Reporting Services, to Power BI, a tool for self-service business analytics. In other words, Microsoft offers products for everyone at a range of prices. It is worth noting at this point that the basic version of Power BI is available for free.
In second place is Tableau, which was appreciated mainly because of the intuitiveness of use, the excellent user experience and the ease with which reports are created. One disadvantage, however, is the focus on large corporate customers and thus the high cost.
Third place went to Qlik, which is rapidly gaining on its competitors - mainly due to the continuing development of Qlik Sense , a self-service tool. The biggest advantage of this system is its simplicity of implementation, as well as the ability to undertake instant data analysis – the user need only indicate the source of the data and then create fast visualizations using the drag-and-drop method. The basic version of Qlik Sense is also available for free downloading.
